For many years now, Tenerife has been one of the most highly visited destinations for sun seekers worldwide, especially during the winter months with an average temperature of a pleasant 21 °C, with around 6 hours of sunshine each day. During the winter months in Tenerife, there are typically 21 dry days, meaning you’re almost guaranteed to have a warm, dry holiday. Tenerife in the winter is also perfect for those who don’t like very hot climates, as the North of the Island especially can be pleasantly cool between November and February.

Tenerife holidays have a lot to offer tourists; the climate is balmy and beautiful all year round with a wonderfully diverse landscape that has all visitors captivated. As well as this, Tenerife also offers up a wide variety of different seasonal activities so that whenever you visit, there will always be something new and interesting for you to try, it’s not wonder that Tenerife is a popular destination from January to December each and every year.

Tenerife is renowned for its luscious rocky coastline and the assortment of different vegetation that lines it towards the North of the Island, whereas the South is more famous for its stunning lunar landscape, with its unique volcanic sand beaches that are always popular with visitors. There are 4 main holiday resorts that the Island is known for, the Puerto de Santiago, the Playa de las Americas, Puerto de la Cruz and Los Cristianos. Each has various attractions and many have beautiful sandy beaches right outside your door – man made and natural alike.

The famous Mount Teide towers over the island and can be seen from all over, providing fantastic photo opportunities and touring activities. Another unique way to explore Tenerife would have to be by taking a trip you may never forget, try taking a tour, or simply travelling yourself, up through the tranquil pine forests and mountain villages that are found within the mountain, eventually you will find yourself at the volcanic National Par, you could even take a unique journey up above the clouds by hopping into a cable car and venturing to the peaks.

Transportation through Tenerife is designed with the tourist in mind; there are regular bus services from various resorts to all the major towns and attractions, as well as most of the larger village that the island contains. Of course there are also taxi’s readily available at your disposal 24 hours a day for shorter journeys, or you could hire yourself a car and explore the island yourself and travel to places that few conventional tourists have seen before.

Tenerife is also a fantastic destination for food lovers, as it promises to offer up a variety of different cuisine to get your taste buds tingling. Traditional Tenerife dishes into a Canarian, thick vegetable known as Potaje, as well as Ropa Veja, a dish similar to bubble and squeak. The island also produces its own dried apricots, raisins and almonds, as well as the very popular goat s cheese, all available for you to sample, all grown fresh from the island.

For those who favour drink as opposed to food, Ron Miel will be the holiday treat for you. Ron Miel is a delicious rum liqueur with honey, and for the extra sweet tooth, the island also specialises in banana liqueur which can be drunk on its own or complimented with a creamy base.

Tenerife is a winter destination to die for, it will definitely be a lot warmer from where you’re coming from, but not so hot you’ll never want to leave the resort! This beautiful island offers up a wide range of different activities and attractions that can give every holidaymaker a vacation to remember.
