A fast and simple way to develop your online presence is to get into social networking at an executive level use websites like LinkedIn, which allows you to post a resume, education, and more. Also, you could create a free blog that allows you to give tips, advice and insight about your field.
Another great way to expand your online presence is to purchase a website domain in your name. Your domain will only cost around $10 per year, and a bit more per month for web hosting (somewhere around $5 per month from most companies). On your website, you could create a simple page that lists your name, title, contact information and a link to your LinkedIn page/resume (don’t forget to create a creative, yet professional design).
Review Your Resume
One of the most important ways to get a good start to your job search in 2010 is to review your resume. Look for any recent awards, training courses, etc that could be added to your executive resume to give it a current and more fully developed feel. You ll also want to review the document to prune out any grammatical or spelling errors and to try to refresh the aesthetics of your resume.
Remember that with a new year comes many new opportunities, and you certainly want to take advantage of any opportunity that you come across. So as you prepare for a new year of job seeking, don’t forget to refresh and rebuild for 2010.
